SYNOPSIS OF Furies (Season 1)
It is an eight-episode female-led take on John Wick, though admittedly only if John Wick misunderstood the appeal of its storytelling. It is an action thriller set in the criminal underworld that imagines organized crime as a dense mythology of eccentric godfathers and arcane rules and regulations.
SUMMARY OF Furies (Season 1)
Lyna is an average college student. She doesn’t live with their parents because they are criminals. She is dating a guy who is a cop named Elie, who may never get to meet Lyna’s parents. Her birthday has been very simple and decent.
It all changes when her father sends her a big amount of €2,550,857 into Lyna’s bank account. His father is the Parisian underworld’s accountant. Lyna is scared because she thinks she is going to be in trouble with the money.
Even though her father assures her that the origin of this money is untraceable, They are invaded while they are celebrating her (Lyna’s) birthday, and his father dies. He is killed in the signature style of the Fury.
The Fury is the woman who keeps order in Paris’ underworld; she meddles when crimes are committed among the criminals. The cop put Lyna in prison for not giving information on who attacked her father.
The cop believes that the fury is just fiction and gives up on the case. Lyna spends six months in prison; during this time, she grows tough and extracts information on Fury from the Shark, a criminal who is a big shot. When she is released after six months, she starts her mission and does get the attention of the Fury, whose identity is disclosed to be Selma.
Selma wanted Lyna to find her, and she says that she didn’t kill her father at all. The Jelly, one of the godfathers of Paris, forced Lyna’s father to filch money, so her father got killed. Lyna tags along with Selma and her teammates.
The Fury works for the Olympus; they receive the body of the jelly in pieces, and they trace the steps of the jelly. The Fixer finds out that Lyna Guerrab, the real daughter of Lyna’s parents, is dead. It turns out that Lyna is Selma’s niece, and Selma wants Lyna to succeed her as the next Fury. Selma lies to Lyna about how her parents died in an accident.
She learns from Orso, an assassin who works for Selma’s rival, Parques, that Driss schemed against the Godfathers, which resulted in him becoming a target.
Selma confesses that she hid Driss in a prison. Lyna tracks her father down. When she finally meets him, Driss attempts to convince Lyna that she can’t trust Selma. He claims the Guerrabs, Lyna’s fake parents, are dead because they heard Selma wanted to reclaim Lyna as her heir.
The Guerrabs had planned a different future for her, but they couldn’t oppose the Fury after all, and it was Selma who set off all of this.
